211 Helpline held its first Legislative Day on September 21st, 2016.
Over 30 elected officials from state, county and local offices toured 211’s center in Lantana. They were able to see first-hand the helpline’s life-saving service and the depth of its impactful programing. Staff hoped to spotlight how critical the funding stream is to the success of the agency’s operations- and the positive impact made on the individuals and families served on a daily basis.
The day also gave elected officials a chance to learn about 211’s newest state funded program, Help Me Grow. Help Me Grow is designed to help families with concerns about their children’s growth and development by providing screenings, helpful tips, information and linkage to appropriate resources and providers.
Senator Jeff Clemens: “ 211 provides an important safety net for those people that might otherwise have nowhere to go.”
